Ellie has a broad background in Intellectual Property Law, British Law, Chinese Law and Business & Finance. She is a qualified Chinese Lawyer and speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Being the China Chief Representative, she gives advice on European IP and Chinese IP to our clients in a wide range of industrial sectors. She has served many Chinese clients who enter into the European market, and so is well aware of the needs and requirements of the Chinese clients and their way of doing business. She works closely with our European attorneys, acting as a liaison and information resource within China for our clients throughout the world. She is responsible for China and UK IP research and thus ensuring both clients and colleagues are well informed of the relevant IP issues, as well as any key developments in Chinese regulation and business affairs. Ellie is also responsible for client and business relationship development and for building Haseltine Lake's profile in China. Ellie who previously worked for the firm in the UK is now based in Guangzhou. She accompanies members of the Haseltine Lake Asia Group during their visits to China and briefs them on Chinese culture and business etiquette.
