Following many years in our Munich office, David returned to our
London office where he is now based.
David regularly attends oral proceedings at the EPO before the
first-instance Examining and Opposition Divisions and before the
Boards of Appeal. He has experience of handling inventions in a
broad range of technical fields, including telecommunications in
relation to standards, encoding and decoding, software and
network/internet-based systems, microelectronics, inductive
charging systems, printing technologies, industrial robots and
controllers, general electronics and computer systems, upstream
technologies in the oil and gas industry, motor controllers and
mechanical devices.
His principal activities include the drafting and prosecution of
UK, European and International patent applications, representing
clients in examination and opposition oral proceedings at the EPO,
the preparation of validity and infringement opinions, and the
provision of strategy advice for patent-portfolio development and
management.
David's clients include large multinational corporations and IP
attorney firms from various jurisdictions, as well as smaller
companies and individuals. He is a regular visitor to Japan and the
USA.
